This Blogger has the Power of Schmooze
I have been given the Blogging Community Involvement Award by my friend Brown Baron. The award recognizes members of the blogging community with the exceptional ability to “schmooze”. (”to converse casually, especially in order to gain an advantage or make a social connection” -Dictionary.com“)
Here’s what Brown said about me:
Read any of the posts and you’ll see the great flow of comments. It’s all because of her great attitude with regard to replying to commenters.
I now have to pass this on to five more people. There are a lot more people that I would like to give this to, but unfortunately, I can only pick five (who have not yet received this award):
teddY- I love his comments. :)
Nirmal- I see this guy everywhere. Seriously.
Benedict Herold- An easy person to talk to, very humorous. :)
Bush Mackel- Another easy person to talk to. :)

Grace - Well.. I’m not a native here either. But I’m follower of this quote “When thou art at Rome, do as they do at Rome.” :)

Congratulations! Or,more befitting, winning the an award for “schmoozing” …Mazel Tov.
To get an accurate definition of the word “schmooze”, the best bet is not dictionary.com but Leo Rosten’s Joys Of Yiddish. Schmooze is friendly, gossipy, HEART TO HEART chit chat. There is nothing about the term “schmooze” that involves gaining an advantage.
We know that those who do make friendly, heart to heart chit chat do gain an advantage because they are engaging and connect with people. But that is an outcome, not the essence of schmooze.
Whether as bloggers or conversationalists, being able to schmooze online or offline —face to face — is a gift. Congratulations on having that gift!

I think you really deserve the award! I’ve never seen a blogger who can not only communicate well with her readers but also relate with her readers at the same time. That’s an exceptional talent (which I don’t have… haha!), so be sure to cherish it! And a really big THANK YOU for sharing all those amazing tips and tricks on blogging - I’ve learnt lots of new stuff since the day I started reading your blog. Keep up the awesome work!

Oh gosh I’m terribly lousy with my memory. I nearly forgot to thank you for the link to my blog! I’m eternally grateful for that. I’ll be more than happy to comment on blogs that appeal to me :) haha!

Susan- Thanks for clearing that up for everybody. :)
